Want to Read My Diary? (Conversations With My Inner Being)

I write to my inner being on the regular, and today I’m giving you a look inside my private journals.

how I started writing to my inner being

Back in 2018 I started listening to Jess Lively’s podcast. Jess was (and is!) very big on writing to your intuition, and though I’d spent lots of time communicating to my inner being via the body compass, I’d never thought to write to it.

Using some of the guidance she provided, and then developing my own methods, I started regularly writing in my journal and asking questions of my inner voice.

Today I’m sharing some of those conversations with you.

My inner being on health

About two years ago I was having some stomach issues. This wasn’t really a new thing for me–I had often manifested physical symptoms related to anxiety.

However, this was a little different and it wasn’t something I’d experienced before and I was freaked out. Of course I turned to my inner being.

Here are some excerpts from my journals around that time.

Me: Help me. I’m so jacked up. I need help getting calm and letting go.

Intuition: Treat yourself with kindness and compassion.

Me: What’s going on with me?

Intuition: You’ve got too much going on.

Me:  Can you tell me more?

Intuition: In your mind. Sleep now.

Me: What do I do to fix my health issues?

Inner Voice: Let go. Rest.

Me: Do I need to go to the doctor?

Intuition: Lie down, curl up, be kind to yourself.

Here’s a conversation on the same topic from a few weeks later.

Me: What should I do with regards to my health stuff?

Intuition: Stay calm.

Me: Will going to the doctor help me feel better?

Intuition: It might help.

Me: What if I don’t go?

Intuition: Still lots of wondering.

Me: Some Law of Attraction stuff says focusing too much on negative health stuff makes it bigger. Should I just try to ignore it?

Intuition: You believe in medical cures, so there may be help there.

Me: Uggh I want to magically resolve this and I feel like a failure.

Intuition: This is not how I feel.

Me: How do you feel?

Intuition: Love. You’re a lovely, beautiful human.

Me: Thank you. Do I need to go to the doctor?

Intuition: It doesn’t matter. If it makes you feel better, go.

The form you have selected does not exist.

I did eventually listen and go to the doctor. She immediately made me feel better and suspected I had picked up something from a river and thought I should just wait it out. When a friend came to visit me shortly thereafter and I was distracted, my issues pretty much cleared up.

*Note* When it comes to health stuff, I personally know I create A LOT of physical conditions from my mind. I’ve gone to the doctor many times for reassurance. I would never suggest NOT going to the doctor if something is wrong with you, but I’d definitely suggest checking in with your inner-being for guidance.

Me: I want to have enough money to do whatever I want. How can I let that happen?

Intuition: Listen.

Me: Listen to what?

Intuition: The voice inside.

Me: Okay, I’m listening. Tell me what to do.

Intuition: You are already doing it.

Me: I feel like I need  new mantra. Do I?

Intuition: You need to allow.

Me: What does that mean?

Intuition: (I feel an opening sort of feeling in my chest.)

Me: What can/should I do ASAP to start that flow?

Intuition: Stop trying.

Me: How do I stop trying?

Intuition: Just do the next right thing.

Me: How do I relax about money?

Intuition: You have enough. Relax.

my inner being always says the same thing (sort of)

My inner being is always so chill. The number of times it’s told me to allow, to let go, to sleep, well, it’s more times than I can count.

That might seem like a cop out to you, like, why doesn’t it tell you more? Why doesn’t it tell you specific things??

Well, I feel it has. It’s told me that in order to advance my career I need to be kind to myself and love myself. It’s helped me make choices about whether or not go go on vacation and if changing directions in my career was a good idea.

But still, it’s job isn’t to give me the exact details of everything I should do for the rest of my life, it’s job is to help me come back to the present moment. To help me get centered, to get calm. To help me open up to well-being and the the flow of life through me.

Have you ever tried to ask your inner being what’s best for you? How did it go?
