Hi, I’m Jen!

I help people unleash their creative souls and give them permission to explore, play, and make stuff.

I’m a professional artist now and I LOVE what I do, but it wasn’t always this way. Although I grew up with a pencil practically attached to my hand, by the time I’d graduated from college I’d mostly making art go. Sure, I worked at a newspaper for a while doing graphic design, but since when is making an ad for a car dealer lighting anyone’s soul on fire?

Time went on and I did the things: Office job, another office job, got married, moved, had another extremely boring office job, got another degree, moved again, had a baby. Suddenly, something had to give. I knew my life was missing that certain something. Though it took about a year and a half after quitting my office job and giving birth to my daughter, one day I finally knew, down to my very bones, that I had to get back to creating.

It’s been a wild and wonderful journey, and even if you’re not intent on becoming a professional artist, I know how important having something relaxing, fun, and rewarding to look forward to. Creativity gave me my life back. That’s why I created this course.

I haven’t painted in forever, is this class for me?

Yup, it doesn’t matter if it’s been ages (or ever!) since you’ve picked up a paint brush. I’ll show you exactly what supplies you’ll need to get started and show you step by step how to paint ten varieties of flowers, and how to showcase them in different styles and formats.

What supplies do I need to get started?

You’ll just need paper, a brush, and some paints to begin, all readily accessible at your local craft store or online. When you sign up, you’ll get automatic access to my complete guide to the exact watercolor supplies I use and recommend, plus the fun extras I use in my own work.

I have no artistic talent at all, can I do this?

Listen, art and creativity are supposed to be fun. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or haven’t done before, or how terrible you think you are at painting. Heck, I used to think I was terrible at painting! (As a kid I always drew; I had no idea how to control a brush or get it to do what I want when I started as an adult!) You can watch this class over and over, stop it when you need a minute to catch up, or repeat the same section until you get your flower just right. It takes time to get good at anything, but I have faith you’ll still enjoy yourself and be thankful you carved out some creativity time.
